You Are Wonderfully Made
Dear Amazing Girl,
Did you know there is a time and season for everything? It is your season to shine in school and lead well! Within your heart are gifts and talents God has given you. He made you fearfully and wonderfully. By using these gifts, whatever you achieve brings glory to Him!
I was once where you are, but I had no one leading me with godly character or showing me what it meant to be a virtuous young lady. No one in my immediate family went to church or studied the Bible. It was not until I graduated from Bible college that I stumbled upon Proverbs 31:10–31. The opening line captured my heart, “A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman—who is he who can find her?” (Proverbs 31:10 AMPC). I wanted to be her. I prayed to God, “Help me become her.”
Every day, I continue to see how capable and intelligent I am, as I pursue righteousness.
But I also want to help other young girls see that they can “be her” too.
You can develop godly character in school and shine bright!
It would have been wonderful for me to have this foundation while I was in high school because it would have saved me from so many mistakes. I struggled with insecurity. I never told myself I was beautiful or smart. Today I am very thankful for God’s Word because it reminds me of who I am.
I am also thankful for God’s grace because it continues to give me opportunities to share His amazing love with others. One way I joyfully share compassion is by helping women find hope after facing an unplanned pregnancy. Many find themselves afraid, confused, and alone. It is an honor to remind them that God is ready to help them on this new journey and help them know that they are not alone.
You are not alone, either! Every young woman can accomplish great things regardless of what has happened in the past or what challenges are on the horizon. As you read these pages, I pray that you will begin to see who you are and what you can accomplish as you develop your character in Christ.
A good heart sends forth shimmers of His light and glory that will inspire others. And I know this: your heart is made to sparkle!
